"When pianist Tuomas Turunen, originally from the town of Joensuu in Eastern Finland, started his studies at Gothenburg's Academy of Music in 2004, one of the first musicians he met was drummer Christian Nilsson. Immediately after their first playing session they both agreed to start a jazz trio and were joined by bassist Marko Lohikari. However, Marko moved away from Gothenburg in 2005 and at the same time Jacob Öhrvall, a bassist with whom Christian has played since high school times, moved to the city. Since then the trio has existed in the present form known as 'tttrio' and have offered their characteristic music into the Nordic jazz audience."
