Artists

Tommi Hyytinen (MuD) has studied in Sibelius-Academy with Kalervo Kulmala as
his teacher. He has also studied in *Universität für Musik und Darstellende
Kunst Wien *with Professor Roland Berger and in *Universität Mozarteum
Salzburg *with Professor Radovan Vlatkovic and Wilhelm Schwaiger. Hyytinen
has worked in the Chamber Orchestra of Lapland, RSO Finland, Tampere
Philharmonic, Helsinki Philharmonic and in the Finnish National Opera
Orchestra. He has also played in the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester,
Münchner Kammerorchester and Savonlinna Opera Festival Orchestra. He is a
member of Arktinen Hysteria Quintet, Helsinki Brass Quintet, Zetes Quintet
and The Golden Horns quartet and has performed in several music festivals
with these ensembles. These festivals include for example Kuhmo Chamber
Music, Korsholm Music Festival, Dresden Musikfestpiele, Mosan Summer
Festival (Belgium), Sibelius&Beyond Festival (London), Usedom Music Festival
(Germany) and Nordic Music Festival (St. Petersburg). Hyytinen graduated
from Sibelius-Academy in 2002 and gave his debut concert there in 2004. In
2009 he graduated as Doctor of Music from Sibelius-Academy. The subject of
his artistic doctorate was the horn of the Romanticism. Currently he is
working in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Hyytinen released in 2007 a
debut recording *Reflections of Light, Finnish solo and duo pieces for horn
1976-2006 *with Pilfink recording label. His second solo album *The Horn of
the Romanticism *will be released in autumn 2010.
